Who requires this qualification?

This qualification is for learners who want to work in positions that provide specialized assistance to students in primary, secondary, or special education schools and colleges.


This course is ideal for you if you want to work or have already been working in support roles in education settings and are looking for a way to deepen your knowledge and progress your learning. You will explore the role of the support worker in more depth and begin to look critically at this role starting to draw on theory to deepen your understanding.

Who can do this course?

  • Anyone over the age of 16.
  • Must have or be working towards a Level 2 in English Functional Skills or equivalent

Learners must also have an advanced DBS check. Please speak with admission team for more information in processing a DBS.


You will need to have a placement or be working in the primary, secondary, FE sectors, SEN settings or specialist units. We do not mind what year you are in as long as it is classroom based with a qualified teacher. Placements must cover a variety of curriculum subjects, not just English and maths. Private nurseries, before school, after school clubs and midday supervisor roles are not suitable.

The cost of the course is £1500 with a deposit of £300, and 0% interest free monthly payments.

 

Funding available

Learners can also apply for the advanced learner loan to cover the cost of tuition. You will only pay this back when you earn over £27,000 annually.
