The Door Supervisor course is a 6 day course, and over this period you will learn what it requires to work in the private security industry, working as a door supervisor, conflict management for the private security industry and physical intervention.
It is now also compulsory that you must have an Emergency First Aid Certificate before you can take the training required for a door supervisor or security guard license.
This course is for individuals wishing to obtain the SIA Door Supervisor Licence and work in the following front-line roles:

Signed valid passport of any nationality.
Driving licence photo card.
UK birth certificate.
UK biometric residence permit.

How you will learn
The course runs over 6 consecutive days (9am-6pm). It's divided into 4 units, and covers everything from the legal aspects of security, to the latest physical intervention techniques.
SIA Course Update (April 2021): Since 1st April 2021, this course became a 6-day course instead of a 4-day course. You must have a first aid qualification before you can take the training. This should be an Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) certificate or higher.
You can enrol on our first aid course and this must be completed before you start the Door Supervisor course
On the final day of your course, there will be 4 multiple-choice exams and a practical assessment.
We understand exams can feel daunting, but there's no need to worry. Everything you need to know is covered in the Door Supervisor Course, and your training instructor will fully prepare you for success.

Getting your SIA Door Supervisor Licence may seem complicated, but it’s actually quite easy! All you need to do is follow the simple steps:
Pass the Door Supervisor Course
The Door Supervisor Course takes 6 days to complete. The training course is assessed by 4 multiple choice exams and practical assessments.
Complete the licence application on the SIA website
The cost of starting a licence application is £184.00 The SIA will get back to you within 25 working days. In rare cases, this can take up to 6 weeks.
Complete identity checks
You will need to verify your identity to satisfy parts of your SIA application, namely your photo ID. The easiest way to do this is at the Post Office. You can also have someone with a British passport, who is not related to you, to sign the back of your photo ID.
Submit application to the SIA
The SIA will verify your identity and run a background check on your criminal record. If you have lived abroad for 6 months or more, you may be required to provide some supporting evidence.
Receive your licence in the post
